ROMA
Doing Rome in 1 day is really a crime. We saw so much, but I could have easily spent weeks here, especially in the Vatican Museum. So much history and beauty, but surprisingly Rome is a pretty busy, dirty city that I was glad to leave.
Our basic itinerary:
Pantheon - Piazza Novana - St Peters - Vatican Museum - Sistine Chapel - Spanish Steps - Trevi Fountain - Palatine Hill - The Forum - Colosseum.
Quickly learnt that it was impossible to stick to a strict schedule as everything you walk past is something notable. And finally some luck! The Vatican Museum had a special exhibition on, 'Rituals of Life - The spirituality and culture of Aboriginal Australians'. Perfect.
